Want to be a better leader? Do the opposite.

Picture everything you’ve HATED in past bosses and the way you’ve personally been managed over the years. And stop doing those things. Instead, do the opposite.

Here’s a surefire way to lead better…

Picture everything you’ve HATED in past bosses and the way you’ve personally been managed over the years. And stop doing those things. Instead, do the opposite.

Hate being micro-managed? Then stop being in people’s stuff so often. Get irritated with a lack of communication? Then up your communication game. Don’t like being fed BS? Then how about being more transparent and straightforward? Never liked feeling under appreciated? Then show a little more love. Hate it when the boss has a low attention span and doesn’t listen? Then listen up. Don’t like being thrown under the bus? Then have your people’s backs.

It’s the upside down. It’s George Constanza on Seinfeld (“If every instinct I have is wrong, then the opposite would have to be right.”). It’s doing the opposite. And it works.
