What would it mean for you to climb on down from your high horse? This doesn't imply ditching your confidence. But rather, checking your ego at the door.
What would it mean if you did this and heavily encouraged co-workers around you to do the same? Well...it would mean a world where we all acknowledged that the purpose and the work matter more than our need for personal ego stroking. Where the best idea simply wins regardless of origin. It would mean a workplace where we all just pitch in and do what it takes....where we collectively do the good work that needs doing which makes all the difference.
What else would happen if we all got off our high horses? Less strife. Less infighting. Less stress and anger. Simply put, less ego = more gets done. Which ironically makes us all look better.
So go on ahead. Get off your high horse.
